A doctor from Spanish Town has been taken into custody as part of an operation targeting the Clansman gang
In a shocking turn of events, a renowned Spanish Town medical practitioner has caught the attention of law enforcement authorities. Suspicions swirl around his alleged involvements with the infamous Clansman Gang, leading to his apprehension as part of a sweeping high-level investigation.
The Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime (C-TOC) branch of the local police force has been instrumental in the arrest. The medical professional, whose photo is not been released was named by Head of crime and security portfolio at the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), Deputy Commissioner Fitz Bailey, as Dr Paul Alondo Robinson, 65, who operates in the Young Street area of Spanish Town~Loop News.
According to the report, the doctor had been providing medical services to the notorious gang members. This has drawn him into the vortex of the ongoing Clansman Gang probe.
With the case proceedings imminent, the arrested doctor is expected to join the courtroom with other accused members of the Clansman Gang, including the gang’s ringleader Tesha Miller.
As is the procedure, legal preparations are in full swing, with an identification parade in the pipeline. In a chilling expose of criminal alliances, numerous members of the dreaded gang have previously faced arrest, with twenty-two confirmed arrests reported so far. Several of these detainees are awaiting trial before the Home Circuit Court.
Those defendants, along with alleged gang leader Tesha Miller, are to return to court on Thursday.
Individuals facing charges under the anti-gang legislation are accused of involvement in various crimes as purported members of the Clansman Gang in St. Catherine from August 2017 to August 2022. Their charges encompass murder, conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, aggravated robbery, and illegal firearms and ammunition possession.
