Black woman was allegedly wrongfully arrested for not paying her fare at Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, New York

According to Faraz Ahmad, “I’m not normally one to post to Facebook but what I just saw was very disturbing.

I got off the train and saw a black woman being aggressively handled by a few cops at Atlantic Barclays terminal. As I asked around, I figured out that a white cop had claimed that this woman had not paid to get on the subway. According to the woman’s friend who was with her as all of this occurred, the metrocard was checked and she indeed had paid her fare. However, since she was apparently “disrespectful” to this same cop (who later tells me to get out of her space when I’m filming after telling me to back up, this is around 30:30 in the video), she was handcuffed. The situation escalated and more cops showed up. This woman’s name is Amanda Jackson. The way this situation was handled was abhorrent but unfortunately all too familiar. Please comment/share as this is just wrong. I’m just throwing some questions out there…who would jump the Atlantic mall subway when there’s already a precinct and holding cell as well as 50+ cops watching? Also, why would she insist on the metrocard being shown to all the cops if she was lying?#policebrutality #wrongfullyarrested”

Nothing has changed in this country as far as Race Relations. The struggle continues.
