Former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage by U.S. Secret Service Saturday after at least six shots rang out, rattling the crowd and injuring the president during a rally in Pennsylvania.

The incident occurred at 18:06 while the former President was at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania,” the Secret Service said in a statement. “The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. A Trump spokesperson said the former president was “fine” but photograph shows what looks like possible blood on Mr. Trump’s ear and face.

The former President updated his supporter on his platform Truth Social.

I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Eye witnesses report who is said to be an emergency room doctor explaining what happened as he tried to save someone’s life in the crowd after being shot. Nothing is currently known about the shooter at the moment, except he was outside of the parameters of the rally.
It is said that the security forces have confiscated an AR rifle from the shooter after he was killed.

A man with a rifle was seen on a rooftop minutes before shots were fired at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania, a witness has told the BBC.

Greg, the witness, said the man had crawled on top of a building just outside the event in Butler County on Friday evening.

He said he pointed the gunman out to police.

“I’m thinking to myself ‘Why is Trump still speaking, why have they not pulled him off the stage’… the next thing you know, five shots ring out.”

Greg was listening from outside the rally and said he saw the gunman around five minutes into Mr Trump’s speech.

“We noticed the guy bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us, 50ft away,” he said.

“He had a rifle, we could clearly see a rifle.

“We’re pointing at him, the police are down there running around on the ground, we’re like ‘Hey man, there’s a guy on the roof with a rifle’… and the police did not know what was going on.”

Greg said he tried to alert the authorities for three to four minutes, but they probably could not see the gunman because of the slope of the roof.

“Why is there not Secret Service on all of these roofs here?” he asked. “This is not a big place.”

The gunman was shot dead, officials later confirmed. Greg told the BBC he saw Secret Service agents shoot the man.

“They crawled up on the roof, they had their guns pointed at him, made sure he was dead,” Greg said.

“He was dead, and that was it – it was over.”

Anthony Guglielmi, communications chief for the Secret Service, said its personnel “neutralised the shooter” and “quickly responded with protective measures”.

One rally attendee was killed and two more were critically wounded, the Secret Service said in a statement Saturday night.
