Fish vendor Queenie got outpouring support with the help of the Prime Minister
Queenie, a dedicated fish vendor from Portland Cottage in Clarendon, shared her struggles with Prime Minister Andrew Holness after Hurricane Beryl. She was trying to sell 300 pounds of frozen conch and other seafood amidst the aftermath of the storm.
Queenie, determined and resilient, emphasized she wasn’t seeking a handout; she just needed customers to buy her conch. Like many other farmers and fisherfolk, she faced significant losses of agricultural products due to the hurricane, which also left many without water and electricity.
With the Prime Minister’s assistance, Queenie has received an outpouring of support since her journey to Kingston to sell her conch. Her heartfelt gratitude shines through.
The Prime Minister highlighted this as a testament to the power of community spirit. Let’s continue to support our people through these challenging times.
