The government has begun providing financial support to the people who are affected by the passage of Hurricane Beryl. The programme sets aside $1 billion for housing support to help those whose homes were damaged or destroyed.
According to Holness, the government is proud to provide this support to the people of Jamaica to help rebuild following the passage of Hurricane Beryl through the REACH and REBUILD Programme.

– Up to J$150,000 for Jamaicans with severely damaged homes
– Up to J$50,000 for Jamaicans with homes with minor damage.
The Government has received US$200,000 and an assortment of medical equipment from the Cayman Islands towards Jamaica’s Hurricane Beryl recovery efforts.
The presentation was made to Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, on Thursday (July 18) by Premier of the Cayman Islands, Hon. Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, who led a delegation from the neighbouring territory on a working visit to Jamaica.
Additionally, the government of Jamaica announced an Aid package from United States Ambassador Noah Nickolas Perry. Holness thanked the dedicated team at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for their generous gift of nearly JMD $400 million (USD $2.5 million).
The support from USAID, he said, will significantly aid the efforts to rebuild and recover for Hurricane Beryl.
The government has emphasized the importance of community resilience and is working closely with local organizations to rebuild infrastructures, such as schools, roads and residence, which were impacted by the hurricane. This comprehensive response aims not only to address immediate needs but also to support long-term recovery and development.
