Disney Donates $1 Million to Youth STEM Program

Celebration of BLACK PANTHER

The Grant is to support the expansion of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s STEM Centrers of Innovation, including 12 new sites across the country

The Disney and Marvel's "Black Panther" surpassed $700 million at the global box office one week after debuting in the United States. It made history to be the highest opening movie in Marvel release history. It also made history for being the first Disney and Marvel film to have a predominantly all black cast with black writers, producers and directors.

The Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) will use the funds to grow its national curriculum and expand its outreach by building 12 new STEM Centers of Innovation around the country, including in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Harlem, Hartford, Memphis, New Orleans, Oakland, Orlando, Philadelphia, Washington, and Watts.

Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger said in a statement, “Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is a masterpiece of movie making and has become an instant cultural phenomenon, sparking discussion, inspiring people young and old, and breaking down age-old industry myths.”

“It is thrilling to see how inspired young audiences were by the spectacular technology in [Black Panther], “so it’s fitting that we show our appreciation by helping advance STEM programs for youth, especially in underserved areas of the country, to give them the knowledge and tools to build the future they want.”

Beware Of False Claims Of Assaults At "Black Panther" Movies

Trolls on Twitter are trying to stoke outrage by making false claims of racially motivated assaults at screenings of Black Panther. For example, the photo in this tweet actually shows a 19-year-old Swedish woman who was assaulted at a bar last month.

Unfortunately, the fake tweets keep coming. This account used the name and photo of Paul Nehlen, a racist and anti-Semitic man in Wisconsin who is trying to defeat Rep. Paul Ryan in a Republican primary there. Nehlen's Twitter account was recently banned.

The photo this tweet used is actually taken from a viral 2013 video made in Serbia that used special effects makeup to raise awareness about spousal abuse.

This is the photo of  the ex-wife of former White House staffer Rob Porter. Yet is is use to on by this Twitter user.

This is obviously racist attempts to spread a lies and to create a false narrative around the movie. It is clear without doubt that because it is a predominantly black film, racist Trolls are trying to derail it.

The black community have been very excited about the film.  The Disney-Marvel's “Black Panther” is poised to shatter box office records for February, with updated forecasts from Disney in the $172 million-$198 million range in North America during the four-day Presidents Day weekend. That's significantly above the first tracking on Jan. 25 for the tentpole, which initially .

This is Marvel's first predominant black film with a black lead superhero. Therefore, this is  historical for the black community and the the reason the racism

There were a number of gofundme pages set up to bring children from predominantly black schools to see this film

The film premiered yesterday and it was just happiness and a party atmosphere in the 42nd Street, New York Cinema.

The Cinema was full of people of all skin colour enjoying the film.  Unfortunately, the racist tweets keep coming but many people are calling them out

"Shithole countries?"

The Media Sphere in America and around the world is been lit with the reports of President Donald Trump saying “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Apparently, he is referring to countries such as Haiti, Mexico and the continent of Africa. The reports are he prefers people from countries like Norway. The question is, do you think Jamaica would be part of Trump's SHITHOLE countries.

Trump denies

Major local and International response to what Trump supposedly have said, he denied it. He said the Democrats are making it up because they are sabotaging Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). President Donald Trump said, he will not sign a deal without funding for his notorious Border Wall which we know the Democrats are against. But do you think the Democrats really want to work with Trump on DACA or are they playing politics with the lives of these children? Do you think they are putting on a show to make Trump looks bad about DACA?
