Jamaicans 75 and older with no income can apply for social pension
In the Press Briefing August 3, Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced that Jamaicans, 75 years and older with no income can apply for Social Pension.
According to the Prime Minister, pensioners can apply to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security to received this pension.
Mr. Holness says he understand that pensioners feel as if they are left out of the current economic growth of the country, which he emphasized, he is aware of. He added there are also a recent increase in the pension benefits. The Prime Minister did not say, however, whether or not, you need to pay into the pension fund in order to get the social pension
