Testing Kits Found To Be Contaminated With The COVID-19 Coronavirus

The Unanimous argument amongst world leaders are the massive testing is the answer to our prayers.

Professor Anthony Costello, who now works at University College London, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, partly,

“We must go to mass testing and when we remove the lockdown… then we will have a control mechanism which will enable us to wait, without socially distancing the whole country, for drugs or a vaccine for herd immunity.

There are reports from multiple media sources that the Coronavirus Test Kits are contaminated with the COVID-19 virus.

What are the consequences and accuracy in data with false positives?

According to MSN News, Testing kits which were headed to the UK have been found to be contaminated with the coronavirus.

The Government has said that it aims to boost the rate of tests to 25,000 every day by the end of April at the latest and has asked private companies to help drive up test production.

But one production firm, Luxembourg-based manufacturer Eurofins, told UK labs on Monday that deliveries would be delayed as core parts had been contaminated with coronavirus, the Telegraph reported.

The Telegraph reported, in it’s aim to  accelerate production, the government has enlisted private firms to help produce thousands of kits in the hope that mass testing will be available to the public within weeks.

One of the suppliers – the Luxembourg-based firm Eurofins – sent an email on Monday morning to government laboratories in the UK warning that a delivery of key components called “probes and primers” had been contaminated with coronavirus and would be delayed.

The firm admitted there had been “an issue” and insisted other private providers had suffered the same problem.

Exactly how the contamination occurred is not clear, and senior health sources insisted the delay would not significantly affect the UK’s testing programme.
