The Jamaica Defence Force Reserves Called Out To Help Fight Crime Throughout December
Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced on November 28, that the government have decided in order to support the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in the fight against crime throughout the month of December they will call out the full Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Reserves.
According to the Prime Minister, the JDF Reserves, in joint operation with the JCF , will be out in communities all over the Island.
“We have decided that in order to support the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the National Reserves will be called out and deployed to assist with security measures across the country”.
Source: Jamaica Defence Force: The Jamaica National Reserves were recently called out and deployed in various hot spots across the island. It is intended that the additional numbers will bolster the fight against the recent spike in violent crimes. The call out is intended to last for the month of December; however, the Jamaica Defence Force stands ready to continue for as long as it takes to maintain the assistance in the fight against crime.
The Security Forces continue to urge persons to call the confidential JDF tip hotline at (876) 837-8888, the Jamaica Constabulary Force at 119 or Crime Stop at 311and provide assistance in ridding criminals from their communities.
