Ziggy Marley set the record straight saying he never raised funds for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) or any military globally

Ziggy Marley passionately addressed swirling rumors about his involvement in fundraising for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The world-renowned son of legendary Reggae legend, Bob Marley, took to social media to fervently clear the air and set the record straight amidst the controversy.

Marley publicly stated: “dont really like commenting on sh*t like this but thank you all said i have never raised any money for IDF or any other military in the world. But let them continue to spread their lies to hate its nothing new in our history. we keep we eye open as well as our hearts.”

Ziggy Marley had initially came under fire on social media after posting a “Free Gaza From Hamas.”, poster and added that, “Civilian lives matter, innocent lives matter, children lives matter.”

Marley made the post in October of 2023 with the initial conflict of October 7th in Israel.

Additionally, the  Vibe, stated that over 700 Stars Sign Open Letter In Support Of Israel: Billy Porter, Ziggy Marley, Mekhi Phifer And More. Over 700 notable Hollywood figures – including hundreds of celebrities and executives — have signed an open letter in support of Israel amid its current conflict with Palestine. 

The latest allegation that prompt Ziggy’s response was a video posted by Reggae Singer Queen Ifrica which stated Ziggy Marley had raised 60 million dollars for the IDF.

In March the Pro-Palestinian group, fighttogetherforjustice posted that Zionist Ziggy @ziggymarley raised $60 million for the IDF to kill Palestinian kids.

The post went on to say that “he dares sing why there’s no peace for the children of Palestine at his WOMAD headline performance 🙃🤮🤬 SHAME @womadelaide for platforming this unforgivable violence, you are complicit. Continue to disrupt the Zionist machine and to shut it down for Palestine, everywhere.”

Ziggy Marley will soon hit the road for his upcoming “Circle Of Life Tour 2024” set to start on May 24, 2024.

The so-called “Circle Of Life” US tour, which spans from May 24 to October 5, will make several stops through numerous cities from California to Florida—coincidentally places currently active with protestors. Ziggy Marley will most likely be in the path of protesters. Many argues that Ziggy Marley has trampled on Bob Marley’s legacy. Noting that his father was revolutionary who spent his whole life fighting for the oppressed and urged oppressed to fight for their right and many people believes that Ziggy Marley has betrayed his father’s legacy. Bob Marley’s ‘Get Up, Stand Up’ is a powerful call to action and a stirring anthem for human rights. The song’s repetitive chorus, ‘Get up, stand up: Stand up for your rights / Get up, stand up: Don’t give up the fight,’ serves as a rallying cry, urging listeners to rise against oppression and to fight for their rights.

Israel has so far killed more than 35,000 people and injured more than 70,000 more, with some 10,000 missing, presumed dead under the rubble of the destroyed Gaza Strip. Majority of them women and children.
